US IMAP email server downtime

On 22 July 2026 at 10:00 am US/Central time (UTC -5) one of our US IMAP email servers will be shut down for infrastructure maintenance. The server will be offline during the maintenance and the expected downtime is 6 hours.

Affected customers will be notified individually via email.

No incoming mail will be lost while the server is offline. Mail that arrives during the maintenance will be deferred and delivered once the mail server is back online.

We realize that the timing of this relocation is not ideal. If you have business-critical mailboxes and would like them to be available during the maintenance then please email support@opalstack.com or reply to this message to make arrangements to have your mailboxes migrated to a different IMAP server prior to the scheduled maintenance date.

Dashboard Control panel and API down for scheduled maintenance.

The control panel and API are down for scheduled maintenance. We'll update this post when the service is back online.

  • The control panel and API are back online.

  • We expect the service will be back online in ~15 minutes.

    • Web: Washington D.C. Opal1 not responding

    Opal1 is not responding to SSH and HTTP requests, we're looking into it.

  • Opal1 is back online. The outage appears to have been due to high load due to abnormally heavy memory usage by a customer app. We're working with the customer to prevent this from happening again.

  • We're rebooting Opal1 at this time.

    Web: Phoenix Opal7 server relocation

    Our data center team will be moving opal7.opalstack.com to a new facility within the next 6 hours. During the move the server will be offline.

  • The maintenance is now complete and opal7 is online.

  • Opal7 is back online. We'll continue to monitor.

  • Opal7 is offline again, the maintenance may be ongoing. Awaiting confirmation from the data center.

  • The migration is complete and Opal7 is back online.

  • Opal7 is offline for the migration at this time.
